Changeable Keys On Mobile Phones — Tactile Variability

There are a couple of new phones being demo’d in Japan that have changeable keys. The advantage is obvious — it provides the tactile advantages of buttons as well as the variety afforded by touch-screens. One disadvantage is that the pads aren’t backlit, which makes the phones harder to use in the dark but does save battery life.
