Research in Motion has reported second quarter revenue of $1.37 billion, up 108 percent over last year and 27 percent quarter-over-quarter. Revenue mix held steady from last quarter, with devices accounting for 78 percent, service for 15 percent, software for 4 percent, and 3 percent from other sources. Income growth was similarly strong, hitting $287.7 million or $.50 per share, up over 100 percent from the same quarter last year and 28 percent from q1. The company says it added 1.45 million new Blackberry accounts during the quarter, bringing its total subscriber base to over 10.5 million. The company’s strong growth is reflected in its stock, which has more than tripled in the last year.
