Project Playlist, a Beverly Hill, CA-based music search engine, has received $3 million in first round funding from unnamed investors, reports PE Hub, citing SEC filings. The service allows people to search music that’s been posted around the web and build shareable playlists from those tracks. The company, which competes with a long list of social music services, claims to put a high emphasis on only allowing legally available tracks into its search engine and on its playlists.
