A pair of AOL (NYSE: TWX) posts from our sister sites paidContent.co.uk and mocoNews.net:
AOL Relying On Mobile To Recover Ground Lost On Online?: AOL’s strategy of mobilizing all these online brands really seems to be paying off, or so BusinessWeek writes in a rather glowing article. According to Hitwise, AOL’s mobile internet site gets more U.S. traffic than Google’s mobile internet site and double that of MSN. And Telephia says people spend more time with AOL than they do with Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO), a boost to AOL’s new business model, which places a heavy emphasis on growing advertising revenue. On the horizon: AOL is planning to release a mobile portal integrating all of its online assets; currently users access their mail and other services through separate sites.
AOL UK Negotiating With Union Over Proposed Layoffs: Nothing close to what some analysts have been predicting/calling for when it comes to AOL overall but there’s a report that AOL UK is negotiating with the National Union of Journalists for a dozen or so proposed layoffs.
