Juniper Research has predicted that mobile gambling will grow until total annual wagers on mobile phones hit almost $12 billion by 2010. This seems to be a reduction in previous predictions: In May last year Juniper figured there would be $23 billion wagered on mobile phones by 2011. Mobile lotteries are still expected to be the most popular service, and will have a predicted 380 million users worldwide — currently in the Far East, but moving into Europe and ultimately state lotteries in the US…assuming the US government repeals the law prohibiting it. Juniper reckons that the global gross win from mobile gambling services will rise from just $106 million in 2007 to $3.2 billion in 2012.
