T-Mobile’s 3G network held up by government squatters?

TmobilelogoThis might partially explain why T-Mobile hasn’t rolled out its high-speed data network yet: some government agencies haven’t moved off of the spectrum yet. The issue apparently stems from surveillance activities still underway in the 1700 MHz frequency that T-Mo spent over $4 billion to acquire. Phone Scoop notes that T-Mobile offered the U.S. government $50 million to hurry up the migration of those activities to other radio bands, but relocation has been "problematic". They’re nicer than I am; if I spent $4 billion, I’d want some results. ;)
