So much for bravado: AnywhereCD, the San Diego-based DRM-free digital music retailer headed by MP3.com founder Michael Robertson, is shutting down, after its contract to sell both CD and digital versions of Warner’s music tracks expires, reports SoCalTech. Even WMG deal as mired in controversy, and the two reached a settlement in June. The amount of settlement probably killed them.
