Quickplay Media, a Toronto-based provider of mobile video services, has raised $15 million in a third round of financing led by Ventures West, along with General Catalyst, J.L. Albright Venture Partners and Up Capital Ltd. The company, which raised $12 million last year, said the financing would be used to expand its operations in order meet growing demand from operators. The company has primarily been successful among Canadian wireless operators, though its services have also been used by such media companies as ESPN and MTV. Release.
