Mobile Software Provider Ecrio Raises $24 Million In Third Round Funding

Cupertino, CA.-based mobile communications and software provider Ecrio has raised $24 million in third round funding. New investors include Japan-based CSK Venture Capital, Japan Asia Investment Co. and Nomura Securities, Aplix Corp., NTT DoCoMo (NYSE: DCM) and Visa, which joined current investor Noventi/CIR Ventures in the round reports BizJournals (via AlarmClock). Japan Asia Investment Co will also get a seat on the board. Ecrio raised $7 million in its first round of funding, and $3 million after that.

The company’s software includes IMS-based applications for 3G phones– Push to Talk, VideoShare, IM and more — and MoBeam software for barcode-based transactions between mobile phones and laser scanners at store locations. (release has more info)
