Quick update on my iPhone credit issue: I’m still not eligible per Apple, because they still can’t find record of my iPhone purchase. [Big hint Apple: check the numerous iPhone posts I’ve made here; I’m not pulling your leg just to get a $100 in your store. ;) ]
I still think the issue stems from the phone number tied to my phone. Upon activation, I was provided a new AT&T phone number since I had no account with AT&T. Four weeks later, I ported my Verizon Wireless phone number to the iPhone, so I think the serial number of my phone is still tied to the old AT&T number. If that number has been recycled, someone else will be getting the credentials for my $100 credit, which is less than ideal to me. I did send an explanatory note to Apple with all of the details, per their request and they responded last night. The note I received indicated that I should try again because the serial number of my iPhone has been updated. Just tried and I still have the same issue, so per their instruction, I’ve responded via e-mail. Although this issue is likely to impact very few iPhone customers, I think it shows that the cellular market has some different complexities over selling music downloads. More to follow in 48 to 72 hours as that’s the expected response time from Apple.
