You probably wouldn’t edit Word docs too often on the Apple iPhone, but it’s nice to know you can. Yesterday, the feature was added to Glide Write 2.0, a service to access, edit, format, and share Microsoft Word docs on your phone. Some of the many features include:
- Sync and creation of Word docs
- Open and edit multiple docs simultaneously
- Export docs to Word, PDF or RTF
From my quick browsing this morning, it looks like the Glide Mobile functionality and server storage is free and not just limited to the iPhone; dozens of handsets are listed. For an additional fee, you can boost your server storage for Glide. I may end up looking a little into this more, since the more I read, the more interesting and useful it looks for mobile users. Windows Mobile folks looking to edit Word docs: don’t forget that the new version of Documents to Go from DataViz offers this functionality.
