Want pictures for your contacts in Microsoft Outlook? Look no further to your friends in Facebook, assuming that "friends" equals "contacts" in your world. Amit over at Digital Inspiration highlights a new Windows application called OutSync, which is written by none other than Mel Sampat. If you don’t know who Mel is: he’s a Program Manager for Windows Mobile at Microsoft.
OutSync allows you to pick and choose which Outlook contacts you want to update with their Facebook photo and of course, you’ll need to already have a matching contact/friend in both Outlook and Facebook. Why would you want to do this, you ask? One great reason is that the contact photos on Outlook get synchronized with your contacts on a Windows Mobile device, which comes in handy if you want to display a photo of a caller on your smartphone. OutSync works with XP or Vista and requires Outlook 2003 or 2007. Mel has a nice video demonstration on Channel 10 if you want to see how it works.
