Owners of certain Nokia N- and E-series devices get a free update to the Nokia Maps application today. The updated application offers maps of up to 150 countries and adds over 15-million pre-loaded points of interest around the globe. The newest version also offers a streamlined interface and optimizations to the Map Loader application to speed map transfers up to ten times faster, plus you’ll get a free three-day trial of the Voice Navigation. Other enhancements include a data counter, which is handy for folks who don’t have unlimited data plans, as well as a GPS indicator to show when you’ve got a GPS signal. My loaner N80 device isn’t compatible, so I can’t give it a try; I’d like to hear from any readers that are able to use it. For a full list of device compatibility, hop over to the Nokia Maps product compatibility page; I see that two standard Nokia phones are on the list: the 6120 Classic and the 6110 Navigator.
