FCC plays games with Nokia N81. Verdict: they approve!

Nokian81C’mon, you know it’s not just formal radio testing with these devices. Sure, they don lab coats and document the official radio results, but wouldn’t you think the FCC would play a game on the new Nokia N81 when nobody is looking? Regardless of what they do off the clock in gadgetopia, it’s on the clock that we really care about and while on the job, they approved the N81 for U.S. use.

In case you missed the official launch event, the N81 is an 8 GB (or 2 GB with microSD slot) quad-band GSM phone with dedicated gaming buttons for the Nokia N-Gage platform on a QVGA screen. Over the air music downloads and a 2-megapixel camera round out the high level capabilities and the full specs are available directly on Nokia’s N81 product page. Oh, and don’t bother reading the FCC report for who won the FIFA ’07 match; no word if it was Tester #1 or Tester #2.
