Mobile game developer Ideaworks3D has received funding from Japan Asia Investment Company. The amount, which represents the company’s first funding round since its founding in 1998, was not disclosed. While Ideaworks CEO Alex Caccia said the London-based company has gotten a number of requests from Asian game producers who want help in moving their offerings to a mobile platform, the company hopes that JAIC’s connections will bring it more clients throughout the region. Additionally, the investment will be used to build up Ideaworks’ studio as it prepares to release its Airplay games development tools internationally. Release (PDF)
