The STAR Group has seen operating income drop by 30 percent year on year, at $91 million, and income from Indian and Asian operations has dipped, reports Business Standard, quoting a Media Partners Asia (MPA) report. STAR is expected to regain ground at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8 percent, and have an operating income of $120 million by 2011. Concerns for STAR include rising content costs, erosion of advertising revenue, fragmentation of audience. Fragmentation is expected to continue, with around 70 more channels waiting to be launched in India.
