– CNN Taps Google For Text Ads, Replacing Yahoo: After three years, CNN.com (NYSE: TWX) has dropped Yahoo (NSDQ: YHOO) as its text ad provided and has signed up with Google’s (NSDQ: GOOG) AdSense. Turnabout being fair play, in 2004, it was Yahoo that took CNN.com’s contextual ad contract away from Google. And given the poor performance Yahoo has endured this past year, the timing couldn’t be better. As for Google, as a consolation, it will still provide ad services for CNN’s international site.
— WaPo Teams With CBS On Political Coverage: As the various news organs large and small ramp up coverage of the 2008 national elections, The Washington Post and CBS have agreed to share content on their respective websites. Washingtonpost.com have access to CBS’ video coverage, while WaPo’s news, analysis, commentary and columnists will be available on CBSNews.com. Both sites will also promote each other on their sites as well.
— MSNBC.com and CondeNast in Syndi Partnership: MSNBC.com and CondeNast’s online arm CondeNet have formed a partnership that will allow MSNBC.com to feature content from such publications as Style.com, Vanity Fair, GQ, Vogue and Glamour.
