Industry Moves: Novak Moves Out of MediaFlo, Gary Leaves Sony Ericsson

Dan Novak, who has long been the public face of MediaFLO at industry events (as the VP of Programming and Advertising) has moved out of the Qualcomm division, and is now with the parent in corporate marketing, reports RCR. Mike Bailey, MediaFLO VP of programming, and Michael Boyd, MediaFLO VP of licensing and research, are filling in the roles Novak left behind.

Sony Ericsson has eliminated the job of VP for Corporate Communications, held by Cherie Gary, as it will hire a global PR agency. It plans to be a top three handset vendor, which apparently requires it change its marketing mindset from “selling more phones” to “being a thought leader” reports RCR News.
