D2C Games Gets $6 Million Funding

San Mateo, California-based D2C Games has received $6 million in funding in a round which includes Rubicon Venture Partners and 755 Capitol Partners. GameDaily, along with everyone else, is reporting this as the first round of funding, but in December last year D2C reported raising $1.5 million in its first round of funding, with $1 million in seed funding prior to that. This latest funding will be used to further develop multiple new properties and strengthen the companies publishing capabilities. D2C is headed by Scott Orr, who started out at EA working on games like Madden, and went on to found Sorrent, which later became Glu Mobile.
