ProSiebenSat.1 Restructures; Forms Content Group; Buys Online Advice Site

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has reported it Q2 revenues, and has also restructured itself as a pan-European group following its acquisition of SBS Broadcasting Group. It had revenues $117.8 million in Q2, up 4.6 percent. Sales rose slightly to $745.1 million. It operates four free TV channels in Germany, along with SBS Broadcasting, a European broadcaster with pay TV, free-to-air TV and radio stations.

Along with the earnings, it also announced a new structure of the company: the company has created a new Group Content unit in a bid to underline its commitment to programming…The company is also evaluating further tech/Internet investments.

Also, the company has bought a majority stake in the “wer-weiss-was“, an online advice site similar to About.com.It has more than three million items of advice and comments, and more than 300,000 users are registered as experts, the company says. Also, ProSiebenSat.1 holds majority interests in Wetter.com and solute GmbH, which operates the Billiger.de portal, one of the largest German-language price search engines.
