Eros International has plans to set up an animation studio in India, for their first animated feature called Toonpur ka Superstar reports Business Standard. (Ed: BS names the film as Toonpur, but we know otherwise). The story has not been confirmed. Eros International President Sunil Lulla says that the company intends to invest Rs. 600 crore in 30 Bollywood films a year – on movie acquisition, co-production, and 3-4 flagship films. The Eros earnings release had mentioned that the company was eying the casual gaming space.
The company has also cut DVD prices, reports Indiantelevision. DVD prices have been reduced from Rs. 150 to Rs. 99, and VCD prices to Rs. 69. That’s still much higher than Moser Baers prices – of Rs. 34 for DVDs and Rs. 28 for VCDs for most (though not all) of its movies.
