In a good indication of how far mobile phones have come, a Sydney man has been arrested accused of uploading a copyright-infringing version of The Simpsons Movie that he had filmed on his handset. None of the reports detail which handset it was, and I’m very curious… Equally tellingly, the phone was uploaded to the internet from a home computer rather than over-the-air. Police raided his house, notes NineMSN, which also pointed out that because the film was copied and uploaded on the first day it was released, it actually hit the US file-sharing website hours before The Simpsons Movie was shown there.
