Pop culture-focused virtual world operator Doppelganger has raised $11 million in a fourth round. The round was led by ComVentures; return backers Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Draper Richards, Trident Capital, KPG Ventures and Greycroft Partners also participated. The company has raised a total of $25.6 million to date, a spokeswoman said. Release
Separately, Doppelganger said that it has upgraded its Music Lounge online environment and rebranded it vSide. The channel focuses in fashion as well as music and entertainment. It has also added site partners Doc Laundry, StarStyle and Downtown Records, which will provide additional content and retail offerings within the virtual world channel.
