I’ve got to mention this… the East Bay Business Times is reporting that AT&T is launching a music phone, apparently in all earnestness… there’s no mention of any device by Apple. While I appreciate the fair-handedness of the publication for the next couple of years, rightly or wrongly, the “AT&T music phone” will be the iPhone. It could be argued that the trax from LG is AT&T’s music phone since it hooks up with AT&T Mobile Music and gives access to subscription services like Napster and eMusic. It also has MobiTV, XM Radio, and AT&T’s Cellular Video service with CNN, the Weather Channel, Comedy Central and HBO. It will be interesting to see how the two phones fare in terms of sales, and in terms of revenue generation for AT&T.
