After BSNL, Idea and Hutch, the Gujarat Department of Post has entered into a pact with Bharti Airtel to offer services such as sale of pre-paid cards and re-charge vouchers and payment collection of Airtel’s post-paid mobile subscribers. [via Business Standard] Bharti Airtel will receive details of consumers who have paid their bills through e-Payment post offices on the same day. The job load at post offices is surely increasing with railway, flight tickets and even subscriptions to matrimonial site BharatMatrimony being sold out of their branches. Hopefully, the revenue generated through such ventures will go into improving postal services.
