Plaxo has launched their new social alerts service, Pulse, that launched earlier this morning. This launch is part of company’s on-going makeover, and trying to find a place in the new social web landscape.

[qi:004] C/Net has a nice review. Pulse has a connections feature, and since morning I have been getting connection requests, that is proving to be a mild irritant. I wish Plaxo gave their subscribers a heads-up so we could tweak our privacy settings, and ignore connection requests.

Frankly, I don’t want any more connections: between LinkedIn emails, Facebook Alerts, Pownce and Twitter requests, my E-Mail InBox is resembling an old Moroccan bazaar.

Also: Wired is calling for social networks to open up and inter operate.

Plaxo is doing it the right way, but eventually this’ll looks like a battle headed for Facebook more than anything. I’m a long time Premium member so I’m using it till I find something better.

  2. I think that openning networking site to interconnect is a great idea. Ultimately, I would like to go to one site and have all my links there or at least the option to update them all at the same time.
