Lenovo offering free Wireless USB adapters in T61 ThinkPads?

Wireless_usb_lenovo_thinkpadWhen I first heard about Lenovo’s support for Wireless USB, I was relieved to finally see this great new technology come to market. What I didn’t realize is that the adapter for it might not cost you. Granted, you’ll still need to pay for a Wireless USB hub, dock or other peripheral, but Everything USB is reporting that adding the integrated Wireless USB adapter to a Lenovo T61 isn’t adding anything to the price. It may push your delivery date out, but there appears to be no cost involved.

Just for kicks, I hit up the Lenovo T61 order page and configured a notebook with the adapter; you’ll see it underneath the $29 Bluetooth option, which I’d also get. Sure enough, there was no increase in price. I’m not sure if this is a website glitch since we’ve seen those before, but it’s worth a look if you’re in the notebook market and want to include this new mobile tech. In our original post, James mentioned that the Lenovo would work natively with Wireless USB peripherals, so perhaps this is the real deal.
