Just last night while recording the MobileTechRoundup podcast, James and I were discussing Facebook with Matt. We all agreed that we can’t jump into every social network that comes across the wire these days: we’d never get anything done! One of the reasons we’ve embraced Facebook more as of late is the support for so many of the other social apps we use. Aside from the great Facebook group we have filled with jkOTR readers, we can add Twitter, Jaiku and hundreds of other apps with more appearing daily.
So how do you know what’s a ‘good’ app and what’s a ‘not-so-good’ Facebook app? Well you could easily install them by the dozen, but you’d better have a ton of time to kill. Jeremy Toeman has a better idea with the "AppRate Interactive" Facebook application. It’s in the early stages just yet, but I see great promise: the idea is that Facebook members as a collective will rate various Facebook apps through AppRate Interactive, so you can save some time and follow the social’s recommendations. At the moment, you can only see the last 10 rated apps within Facebook: I’ve offered feedback to Jeremy for better integration, i.e.: if I’m using a Facebook application, I’d love to rate it right then and there.
