Updated:@IAMAI-Online Retailing: Subhiksha To launch Online Store Around Oct

Chennai-based retail chain Subhiksha will be launching its online store around October this year, Subhiksha Trading Services marketing president Mohit Khattar told me at the sidelines of the IAMAI conference on online retailing being held in Chennai. Khattar said a basic non-ecommerce site will up in the next few days.
Update:
But looks like they have a skeletal image of the site up already here.
This is Subhikha’s second shot at Cyberspace. In 1999, the company, which currently has 760 outlets selling groceries, fruits, vegetables and medicines, had unsuccessfully launched an online version of its stores. Khattar blames low Internet penetration, fewer broadband connections and low download speeds for the failure of Subhiksha’s first online venture, which was shut down in two years.
In its second avataar, Subhiksha’s online arm will sell groceries, pharmaceutical as well as mobile products and will not be charging customers for delivery. The online and offline business are integrated for now and the same team will be managing both businesses, Khattar said.
