What’s New on the Intertube

Nick Cannon’s Star Camp, Nickelodeon’s first web series, launched yesterday (no direct link but available on TurboNick). It’s a “making of the band” show for kids, complete with appearances from “choreographer to the stars, Fatima Robinson” and other reality TV mainstays. The intended result: the Giggle Club “supergroup,” formed over five 15-minute episodes and debuted on Nickelodeon at the end of August.

KateModern has started posting. The new series from the Lonelygirl15 universe has started up on Bebo with some blog posts and artsy videos. Remember to come by tomorrow night to hear more about this during our Pier Screenings interview with LG15 creator Greg Goodfried.

Mockumentary creator Christopher Guest is making advertainment for Intel, with two music videos set to be posted today on a variety of websites, according to the New York Times. The concepts include a meeting of soft rock (Intel software) and hard rock (Intel software) in the middle of an office. We haven’t seen them yet, but let us know if you do.

Mr. Guest, who has been making commercials for more than 10 years for companies like Carrier (the air-conditioning manufacturer) and Kellogg’s, said that writing the Intel songs was “very difficult” given that while he is computer literate, he is not an “Apple genius.”

“The premise was very arcane,” he said. “We had to write music and lyrics about things most of which we’d never heard of.”

Update: The videos are up on the official site, and on YouTube.
