– Motricity has suffered the departure of several engineering division employees, including the unit’s top executive, CIO Tony McAlister, reports Triangle Business Journal. This comes a few months after the company accepted a $50 million infusion from activist investor Carl Icahn, though not sure if this has anything to do with that. In May, former Motricity GM of Media & Entertainment Rex Ishibashi joined online music registry firm Snocap as the Chief Advancement Officer. Meanwhile, the company is still on the block, a few months after it hired bankers to evaluate its strategic options.
— Vringo, the video ringtone sharing service, has added Jim Ryan, the former head of content at Cingular/AT&T and now CEO of MobileComplete Mobile Campus, to its board of directors. More here.
