An interesting move as Google continues to suck away traditional media industry talent in NYC as it builds it ad sales efforts there: Tim Castelli has resigned as publisher of Rolling Stone to join Google as New York sales director, reports AdAge. Castelli was named publisher in April 2006, so this was a short stint…no successor has been named yet.
Last August Google hired away Eileen Naughton, former president of Time magazine, head of ad sales for its NYC offices. She was recently named director-media platforms, from regional sales director-East Coast.
