WeShow, an NYC-based online video guide/aggregator, has received an undisclosed amount of funding from The Pilot Group (Bob Pittman’s firm) and Bill Sahlman of Harvard Business School. The company has launched country-specific sites for U.S., U.K. and Brazil markets. The service is a human directory with the idea to organize quality videos from other sites such as YouTube and others. Its editors look at about 15 video sites daily.
This is a tough category: there are pure software driven solutions (Blinkx and others), and then user-generated indexes (VodPod and others).
