Landmark Communications, which owns a variety of media outlets including websites, newspapers and TV and radio stations, has added IP intelligence provider Digital Envoy to its holdings. The terms of the purchase were not disclosed. Digital Envoy, which was founded in 1999, invented a technology called geo-location, which lets companies find geographical information about online users based solely on their IP addresses. Landmark plans to avail itself of Digital Envoy’s two main online audience targeting products, Digital Element and Digital Resolve. Bill Calpin, Digital Envoy’s president and CEO, will remain as the head of the company. Release
