Hopefully you caught my quick video overview last week of Facade, a smartphone Today screen plugin from SBSH software. One of our readers, Addic, asked a great question on the memory footprint of Facade. After all, you don’t want a ‘memory heavy’ plugin that’s going to negatively affect your device performance, right?
I reached out to SBSH and Todd was kind enough to reply. He used a Task Manager app to measure the approximate memory footprint of the process that Facade runs and found it to be around 100 kb. Additionally, the plugin .dll file takes up 220 kb of storage memory. Truth be told, any plugin is going to use memory and relatively speaking, these footprint figures are reasonable so kudos to SBSH.
Todd generously offered up a license to Facade, so we’re going to give it away. Here’s the deal: you have until 11:59 PM (EDT) on Sunday, July 15th to leave a comment in this thread. All you have to do in the comment is list what smartphone you plan to run Facade on. I’ll have my kids pick a random number on Monday morning and that comment number in the thread of comments gets the license! To make sure you’ll actually want and use the license, why not download a free trial of Facade first? Thanks to Addic for the question and a special thanks to SBSH for the answer and a license to give!
