I’ve been using Verizon’s EV-DO network for about two yoars, so when I saw Ars Technica take it for a spin, I had to give it a read. Now that the entire Broadband Access coverage area is upgraded to the faster Revision A, I was curious to see how it played out for Ars. I know that James has thoroughly enjoyed using it and with mobile broadband speeds like these, how could you not?
Ars tested the service in and around the Chicago area with both a Windows notebook and a MacBook Pro. There are times in the review when I really wanted to see which machine was used for the testing, just to see if there was a difference, but not every test result indicated the computing platform. Still, if you’re looking to see how enabling and effective 3G connectivity really is, you’ll get a solid idea. Bear in mind that your results will vary based on location and signal strength. Stay tuned for another reason I was interested in this article….
