Mobile Virtualization Company Raises $16 Million In Second Round Funding

Sunnyvale, California-based mobile virtualization company VirtualLogix has raised $16 million in a second round of funding led by Esprit Capital Partners and which included Intel Capital and previous investors Atlas Venture and Index…previous investor Cisco Systems didn’t reinvest reports VentureBeat. This brings the total amount VirtualLogix has raised to $28 million. The company makes virtualization software (which lets multiple operating systems run on hardware) for mobile phones, as well as iPods and watches. The new funding will be used to expand globally and develop the next generation of VirtualLogix’s software. As part of the investment, Tom Bradley, partner at Esprit Capital Partners, will join the Board of VirtualLogix and John Mascarenas, from Intel Capital, will join the Board as an Observer. (release)
