Yahoo India Monetizes Answers With Branded Q&A

Yahoo India has monetized “Answers” with a tie up with Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) – they created a branded zone for the launch of Dove Haircare, as per a release. Yahoo also filmed 100 minutes of video tips on haircare from 250 women from Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, and these were complemented with answers related to haircare at Yahoo Answers, as well as tips from experts. I wonder how long this deal with HUL is for – it’s certainly a good idea, but is the branded zone permanent? I also noticed advertising (for Magic Bricks) on the page – so it’s strange that HUL is open to advertisements from other brands to be displayed on their branded site.
