More on Buongiorno’s Acquisition of iTouch

Some more details on Buongiorno’s $191 million buyout of iTouch (we covered it here): Andrea Casalini, CEO of Buongiorno, said the Italian group had made the acquisition to position itself ahead of expected fierce competition from content providers such as News Corp to supply video and music clips. He added that Buongiorno had looked at other targets, including Jamba and Spain’s LaNetro Zed, which is buying Monstermob of the UK. Expect more M&A from the group, though probably smaller deals.

Updated: A profile of Mauro Del Rio, chairman of Buongiorno, in IHT: The company says it now has a 5 percent share of the global market in “added” mobile services, post acquisition.
