CMP Buys Online Virtual Gaming Firm How Machines Work

CMP Technology, the tech media firm undergoing a big restructuring in its business, has acquired How Machines Work, a designer and developer of interactive online environments. CMP’s newest acquisition “strengthens its Web 2.0 product portfolio with proven expertise in creating and deploying state-of-the-art games and sophisticated virtual environments that educate and engage technology innovators in bold, exciting new ways while enabling marketers to reach their targeted audiences and create a unique brand experience”. Go figure.
HMW has clients such as Infineon, Siemens, HP and Sun Microsystems. The copany has been working with CMP, and earlier this year developed Mechatropolis, an online community for mechanical and electronics engineers, which was launched in partnership with Freescale Semiconductor. Details in release.
