Telephia’s Details: Buyout Price: $440 Million

Update 2, July 14: The buyout price is $440 million, according to an SEC filing by Nielsen.

Update 1, July 7: We have heard from our sources that the buyout price is around $400 million, above the $300 million the company was expecting when it started the process, though this is not a confirmed price.

Earlier this week mobile measurement and metric firm Telephia was bought out by Nielsen. We couldn’t get much details as the company didn’t release any numbers, but we have been able to dig out some numbers though our sources, including its total funding.
Telephia has been around since 1998, and raised a total of $110 million through its lifetime. It had $30 million in incremental 2004-2007 revenues. 2005 revenues were $64 million with $7 million in EBITDA, and 2006 revenues were $72 million with $14 million EBITDA. This year it expects about $90 million in revenues About 85 percent of its revenues come from long term (1-3 years) subscription. The company was considering an IPO before it went down the M&A path.
