iContact, which provides an application for e-mail marketing and blogging, has closed a $5.35 million first round funding. The round was led by Updata Partners with participation from previous investor IDEA Fund Partners. In May 2006, IDEA helped iContact raise $500K in a seed round. The company plans to use this new funding for promotional purposes and product development. Based in Raleigh-Durham, NC, iContact markets one central web application that lets users create e-mail newsletters, blogs, RSS feeds, surveys and autoresponders. The company, formerly known as Broadwick until this past month, says it has 11,500 customers and over 90,000 current users. Release
