I suppose it makes sense for Fujitsu to have their own portable hard drive solutions since they manufacture actual drives. Why let Iomega and others have all the fun? This little diddy holds 300 GB of data and has an integrated USB cable that tucks right into the side of the unit; the cable also is used to power the unit, so there’s no AC adapter or other wires. You’ll see that the cord is short, but that lets you store the interface right within the device housing. Sometime in the third quarter we can expect to see these on retail shelves: Best Buy and Fry’s were specifically mentioned to me. MSRP on the portable drive is expected at $229; if that’s too much for your budget, there’s a 120 GB model slated to hit at the same time for a hundred clams less.
