The 12-week series is hosted by the Food Network’s Dave Lieberman, who will travel the country highlighting interesting recipes.
— TV Guide Online Video Awards to Debut: Gemstar-TV Guide International will launch the TV Guide Online Video Awards, an annual awards franchise that will recognize the best and most innovative professional video programming created specifically for the Web. Winners will be celebrated in a live evening event to take place in Los Angeles in early December.
— Break.com and G4 Partner On Animated Webisodes: Break.com, the online entertainment channel aimed at men, and Comcast’s similarly targeted network G4 are working on an original animated series called Code Monkeys. The series will premiere exclusively on Break.com and offers a satirical take on videogames, technology and pop culture.
— Vuguru’s New Show: Michael Eisner-backed Internet production firm Vuguru has teamed with Dinosaur Diorama Prods. for a Web serial focusing on a fictional indie rock band. Each “All-For-Nots” episode will run from seven to 10 minutes. It’s expected to break down to about 24 weekly segs, with a launch targeted for this fall.
— Oxygen Comedy Contest: Female-focused cable net Oxygen is sponsoring a Create-a-Series Comedy Competition. The top prize is a production on Oxygen, with the best series appearing on the cable net’s broadband channel SheDidWhat.tv.
— Last Stop For Paul Makes The Move From Web To Theater: Last Stop for Paul, a series composed of 13 webisodes about two companions traveling the world with a deceased friend’s ashes, is scheduled for a theatrical release this October. The internet series represents approximately 25 percent of the feature film version.
