Leaked Beta File Reveals Details Of Microsoft’s Voice-Enabled Mobile Search


It’s not a surprise that Microsoft, which recently snapped up voice recognition company Tellme, entertains ambitions to someday launch voice-enabled services. But now we have more than a hunch; we have concrete details. According to this short post from Boy Genius Report, a beta CAB has leaked, giving us some insight into the app that will soon enable voice search on mobile. Details are sketchy (and quite technical) but we can say voice search will be enabled over Bluetooth (as well as the handset’s built-in microphone). What’s more, the program lets users search the Web by way of Windows Live Search, and also lets users enter text into any open field using voice.
