Glu Overview; Blackberry Deal With BPlay

Forbes has a piece on Glu, focusing on its financial prospects and place in the market. It’s a good overview of the company aimed at investors, and it has some info on revenue sharing for licensed content: “The wireless carriers keep a percentage of the fee (generally between 30 percent and 50 percent) and the rest goes to Glu Mobile, which is booked as net revenue, for its own games, or shared with the company that owns the game. For the licensed content. Glu keeps about 60 percent to 80 percent of revenue.”

The article also notes Glu’s recent deal with BPlay for the latter to distribute some of Glu’s games (such as Monopoly, Transformers and Deer Hunter) on Blackberrys. For Glu this is just another handset/distribution deal, really.
