Jentro, a German white label provider of location services and off-board navigation solutions targeting owners of mass market mobile phones, has raised $29 million in its first round of funding, GPS BusinessNews reports. The investment is led by New Enterprise Associates (with $28 million) and Glynn Capital ($1million). Jentro, which claims 650,000 customers, will use the funding to accelerate growth and seek technology partnerships with key players. (Motorola has included Jentro’s solution in its navigation product for Java handsets set to be available this summer as a mobile phone accessory.)
