Tata Indicom Launches Mobile Internet Radio Subscription Service

If you are a serious radio listener trying to escape the Bollywood bombardment of local radio stations, here’s your chance. Tata Indicom has launched a mobile Internet radio subscription service that will allow subscribers to listen to MP3 versions of 41 channels including news channels such as Bloomberg, BBC, CNN, Fox Radio, ESPN Radio and Seattle WM via their handsets, according to this report. Radio-casts in English, Hindi, Telegu, Tamil and other international languages will initially be available on CDMA phones such as Motorazr 3C, Samsung Wideo and Motorola World Phone for a subscription charge of Rs. 50 a month across all Tata Indicom circles, including those markets where FM services haven’t commenced.
