Nimbuzz, a company that has developed a mobile/PC app connecting mobile and PC users has received an investment of $10 million from VC companies Mangrove Capital Partners, MIH Group and Holtzbrinck Ventures. Nimbuzz provides an app that supports voice, presence, conference calls, and SMS messaging between mobile devices — and tops it all off by offering mobile-to-mobile calls between Nimbuzz users billed at local rates. The service also works with IM services including MSN and Google Talk. The company will now focus on global expansion and distribution, with a goal of connecting the world’s 2.2 billion mobile users with the 1.1 billion global Internet users “in real time and for free,” the company said in a statement.
