MMOG K2 Network Gets $16 Million Second Round Funding

Online game publisher K2 Network has closed a $16 million second round financing led by Intel Capital, the chipmaker’s investment arm. Intel Capital was joined in this funding by new investors Greycroft Partners, Khosla Ventures and Novel TMT Ventures as well as returning investors BV Capital and MVP Capital. K2 plans to use the funds to market its Free2Play massively multi-player online games. One of it’s most popular games is War Rock, which was marketed in two versions: one that featured graphic depictions of blood splattering, which was released in Korea, and a tamer, international one. The Irvine, CA-based MMOG company claims to have served over 10 million gamers in over 100 countries. K2 Network raised a $5 million first round from BV Capital and MVP Capital in late 2005 and early 2006. Release
